We dined at Shangzheng Yu and were very satisfied not only with the delicious food but also with the service. Initially, we were shown to a regular table, but when we requested a private room with a revolving table at the back, they kindly accommodated us as it happened to be available. The revolving round table made it easy to serve the food and gave us an authentic Chinese restaurant atmosphere, allowing us to enjoy our meal more leisurely. The dishes mainly consisted of steamed dishes that brought out the flavor of the ingredients, and everything was freshly made and delicious, allowing us to fully appreciate the freshness of the ingredients. Each dish was carefully prepared, and the gentle seasoning kept us from getting tired of it until the very end. The staff were happy to accommodate our requests, and their service was polite, making for a very comfortable time. The food, service, and atmosphere were all satisfying, and I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again when I come to Shanghai.
We came here because it was still opened even at 3pm. Everything is steamed and very fresh but very simple and plain. Steamed fish, steamed prawn, steamed chicken, steamed lamb, steamed veg, steamed cake. You need to make your own sauce. Right at the end we had porridge but that’s tasteless too but once you add soya sauce, tastes so much better. The room became quite warm as Shanghai in the summer us rather warm.
Steam seafood, life selection of seafood. Usually the base is rice with some condiments. After steaming the food, the base will be cook from the abstract from the seafood. Nice porridge for endings.
