Walking around Southern Song Imperial Street (åå®å¾¡è¡) in Hangzhou is a kind of enjoyment. The street is termed “imperial” because it was the main street traveled by the emperor in the Southern Song Dynasty, from his palace to the temple for him to make routine prayers.
Those who are fascinated by old architecture will be so thrilled to walk on this oldest street in Hangzhou. Zhongshan road is scattered with relics, building and houses that can be traced back to Southern Song, Ming, and Qing Dynasty and also with western styles built in the early Republic of China.
