Makan Arabic Restaurant is truly in a class of its own in Shanghai. After spending almost two weeks in China, I had started missing African-style food. When I arrived in Shanghai, my host noticed that I was becoming a bit selective with food choices and decided to take me to this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. We were attended to by an Egyptian waiter and a Moroccan waiter, both of whom were very friendly and knowledgeable. They recommended the restaurant’s signature dishes, including the lamb biryani and a selection of assorted juices. I have absolutely no regrets about dining there—the food and hospitality were outstanding. To make the evening even more memorable, we were treated to an oriental dance performance by a talented and beautiful dancer. My friend was curious about her and wanted to ask more about her, only to be informed that her husband was nearby! What also caught my attention was the impressive collection of awards displayed throughout the restaurant, a clear indication of its reputation and quality. I would gladly recommend Makan Arabic Restaurant to anyone visiting Shanghai. The excellent food, warm hospitality, and lively atmosphere make it a dining experience worth remembering.
