I had a wonderful dining experience at Hakkasan Shanghai. The location is fantastic, with beautiful views of the Bund and Shanghai skyline right from the restaurant. The view alone makes the experience special, especially at night when the city lights up. The food was excellent, with every dish well-prepared and full of flavor. What stood out even more was the hospitality. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal, making us feel very welcome. Great food, great service, and one of the best views in Shanghai. I would definitely recommend Hakkasan for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience on the Bund.
The restaurant itself is stunning, with very elegant decor and plenty of Michelin Guide recognition and other awards displayed throughout the space. The view is also a highlight — from the fifth-floor dining room, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the tower, which definitely adds to the overall experience. Unfortunately, the dim sum did not reflect the premium prices. While everything was beautifully presented, the flavors were fairly average and lacked the “wow” factor I was expecting from such a highly regarded establishment. It wasn’t bad, but it simply didn’t justify the cost. Worth trying once if you’re curious about the experience, the impressive setting, and the nice city views, but Shanghai has many other dim sum restaurants that offer better taste and value for money.
Having visited several Hakkasan locations globally, we knew the Shanghai flagship was a must-visit. It truly lived up to the reputation as the best in the chain, specifically regarding the freshness of the ingredients. The meat dishes were exceptional, so good that I completely forgot to take photos. The Bund location is unbeatable and the service was perfectly attentive. While the interior felt like it could use a slight update to match the caliber of the food, it was an incredible experience overall. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the city.
Everything at Hakkasan was truly exceptional. The food was excellent across the board, with generous portions and beautifully presented dishes. The ambiance was refined yet welcoming, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. For the quality offered, the value for money was excellent; we felt it exceeded our expectations. Furthermore, the location on The Bund made the experience even more special. A truly memorable dining experience, highly recommended.
Hakkasan Shanghai is world-class. The menu offers an incredible variety of high-end Cantonese dishes, and you can choose between well-curated set menus or a la carte. Every dish is executed to perfection. The Peking duck with caviar is a total masterpiece and a must-try. The dim sum platter is also exceptional, refined and full of flavor. The atmosphere is sleek and vibrant, keeping up with the high standards of the food. It is easily one of the best dining experiences in the city.
