Description

Chinese tea carries rich history, geographic significance, and artisanal craft, which can be overwhelming on a short trip. This experience simplifies Chinese tea without compromising its complexity.

During the 90-minute session, an English-speaking tea host guides guests through nimThé’s Chinese Tea Experience Set in a relaxed popup location inside M50 Creative Park, Shanghai. The tasting begins with a seasonal house tea followed by five key Chinese teas: Sea Wind (Longjing Green Tea), Bourbon (Smoked Souchong Black Tea), Shadow of Orchid (Tie Guan Yin Oolong), Wooden Sparkle (Rock Tea Oolong), and After Rain (White Peony White Tea).

The focus is on sensory exploration—aroma, flavor, texture, brewing style, and the lasting impressions of each tea—rather than memorizing tea categories. Traditional Chinese cha dian accompany the tasting to enhance the experience.

This is a modern tasting for travelers, culture lovers, couples, friends, and solo visitors interested in an accessible, authentic introduction to Chinese tea. It is not a ceremonial show or bubble/milk tea activity.

Sessions accommodate 1 to 4 guests, offering an intimate setting with plenty of opportunity for questions. The current popup replaces nimThé’s permanent store, which is under renovation; the experience and tea selection remain consistent despite possible changes in room appearance.
