Description
Head to our folk art gallery and workshop in downtown Shanghai and craft your own jewelry using the traditional intangible cultural heritage technique of Mother of Pearl Inlay.
Begin with a self-guided tour of our intimate Chinese folk art gallery — featuring Dunhuang mural art and traditional handcrafted pieces from across China. A rare glimpse into living Chinese heritage before you create your own.
Then sit down with your instructor and get started. We use only real abalone and butterfly shells — each fragment carries its own natural iridescent pattern, shifting color as light moves across it. No two fragments are ever identical. Choose from a wide range of patterns to make earrings, necklaces, bracelets, or pendants. Let your creativity run wild.
Take home a finished piece that shines like fine jewelry — beautiful, durable, and genuinely one of a kind. Not because you made it, but because the material itself is irreplaceable.
