Description

Your tour begins with a hotel pickup in Shanghai followed by transfer to Shanghai Hongqiao High-Speed Rail Station. Board a comfortable high-speed train for the 1.5-hour journey to Nanjing.

Upon arrival, meet your local guide and driver at Nanjing High-Speed Rail Station. On non-Mondays, start at Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, climbing 392 steps while learning about Sun Yat-sen’s revolutionary contributions and the mausoleum’s architectural features.

If your visit falls on a Monday, you will visit Meiling Palace, the former residence of Chiang Kai-shek and Soong May-ling, exploring life in the Republic of China’s upper class.

Lunch is not included. Inform your guide when you're ready to eat, and they will recommend local restaurants serving authentic Nanjing cuisine (at your own expense).

In the afternoon, visit Zhonghua Gate, the largest and best-preserved ancient city gate in China. Walk along the Ming Dynasty city wall, learning about the historic defense systems and craftsmanship behind the inscriptions on the bricks.
