Description
Departing at 07:45 from Shanghai, the tour includes a 90-minute bus ride to Zhujiajiao, a 1,700-year-old water town. Here, you’ll be fitted with a bike and helmet and receive a safety briefing before cycling begins.
The route follows mostly car-free greenways along lakes and quiet villages, covering approximately 100 km. The morning ride passes along the Taipu River before a picnic break in Jinze, an ancient canal town with a Song-dynasty bridge. The afternoon loop circles Yuandang Lake and the eastern shore of Dianshan Lake, featuring natural sights such as iris fields, wooden boardwalks, and water birds.
The tour finishes by 19:00 after a sunset viewpoint stop, concluding with a return bus ride to Shanghai.
The terrain is mostly flat and well surfaced, best suited to cyclists in normal health who can ride steadily for five to six hours.
