Description
This is dinner at a real local's table — not a restaurant, not a cooking class.
Your host prepares a full spread of classic Chinese home cooking: dishes like Kung Pao Chicken, Fish-Fragrant Pork, and Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs, plus fresh seasonal vegetables. The number of dishes always matches your group size, plus two — nobody leaves hungry.
After dinner, the evening continues with a traditional Chinese tea session. Your host selects teas based on the season, paired with seasonal fruits and a tasting of China's most popular snacks — the kind you find in local homes, not tourist shops. Many of these flavors don't exist outside of China.
Hosts are carefully selected for their warmth, experience hosting international guests, and fluent English. Sessions are available across three Shanghai districts — Jing'an, Xuhui, and Songjiang — all easily reachable by metro. Maximum 8 guests per session.
This is the meal most visitors never get to have. Real food, real conversation, real Shanghai.
