Description

We hope that orders can be placed at least 24 hours ahead of the cut-off time, so that we can have more time to prepare and ensure a pleasant experience for you. At around 9:30 a. m., the tour guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you to Zhujiajiao. Typically, it's about an hour's drive from downtown Shanghai to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town. On the way to Zhujiajiao, the guide will chat with you about the detailed travel itinerary. Upon arrival, she will take you through ancient stone bridges, riverside lanes, classical gardens, leading you to explore the hidden corners of this 1,700-year-old water town. Besides, you can take a hand-rowed boat ride to admire ancient bridges and historical buildings along waterways. Next, we will visit a series of historical sites, including: • Fangsheng Bridge, one of the most iconic landmarks in Zhujiajiao • Kezhi Garden, a Chinese-style classical garden • Yuanjin Zen Temple, where you can climb up it and enjoy panoramic views of the ancient town • Daqing Post Office, the only existing post office from the Qing Dynasty in East China At noon, we will head to the pedestrian street, where you can buy lots of traditional Chinese snacks such as sticky rice dumplings, exquisite pastries, and other savory street food. For lunch, we will order authentic local delicacies like noodles and wontons for you. However, if you want to order your own meal, we can arrange that as well, but the cost will be at your own expense. After lunch, we will drive to the Shaolin Kung Fu Culture Center, where you can learn Chinese marital arts under the guidance of a Shaolin master. The beginner class lasts for about one hour. During the class, you will start with Shaolin basics and learn fist techniques, boxing forms and footwork, experiencing traditional Chinese culture in an immersive way. After the end of the tour, we will drive you back to the hotel.
