Begin your private tour with pickup from your hotel. Your English-speaking guide and professional driver will take you through Shanghai's most iconic sights — high above the city, deep in the old town, and out on the water — before returning you to your hotel at 6:00 PM sharp. Head to Lujiazui and enter Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China. The world's fastest elevator whisks you to the Top of Shanghai Observatory on the 118th floors (546 meters). From here the whole metropolis unfolds beneath you: the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Huangpu River's great bend, and the Bund's historic rooftops across the water. On a clear day you can trace the river all the way to the sea — the definitive Shanghai panorama. Cross back to the west bank, where your guide will recommend a restaurant near the Bund — classic Shanghainese cuisine or a quick bite, whatever suits the group. Start your guided walk at the waterfront promenade, looking across at the Pudong skyline you stood on this morning — the towers now shimmering in afternoon light.
